End of Year

Congratulations to P7B for finishing P7 and primary school today. We are so proud of them and wish them all the best for high school next year! We’ve had a great couple of days creating memories 🙂

Football triumph!

Well done to our football teams who competed in the Matthew Carney Football Tournament on Sunday. The boys P7 team and the girls team placed 3rd. Special congratulations to Oxford who was Man of the Match!

Carlos Acutis Exhibition

Today we were invited by St Luke’s staff and pupils to visit the Carlos Acutis Exhibition that they are currently hosting in their school. We found it really interesting to learn about Carlos’ life and what he achieved, and were excited to learn that he is to become the first millennial to be canonised!

St Luke’s Literacy Visit

Thank you to Miss McCue who visited us today from St. Luke’s to teach us an S1 style literacy lesson. We spent the morning writing critical essays that answered the question, ‘How does ‘The Last Wild’ explore the theme of friendship?’ We certainly rose to the challenge but Miss McCue left the classroom really impressed with the work we produced and we felt so proud of ourselves!

Musical Masterclass

Thank you to composer Fergus Hall who came in today to help us as we prepare for our school show, Joseph and His Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat. He gave us lots of tips and tricks to help with our breathing, singing and volume.

PE fun in the sun!

P7b headed out to enjoy and make the most of the sunshine during our PE lesson. Challenged with a selection of PE equipment we have not yet used, the class were to create their own PE games which were then taught to other members of the class.

We finished by playing a new game created by Zofia, which combined the best parts of dodgeball and rounders!

Come learn with me!

This week some parents came in to learn about vaping and it’s effects on us. We started on posters and Presentations with facts we learned from a documentary  we watched earlier on, the presentation had to be suitable for for children in p5 and 6.

Scale drawing our classroom from a birds eye view

This week our class has been learning about scale drawing, and how to use them in every day jobs. On Wednesday we got into groups and measured the classroom and the items in it then we wrote down the measurements in our jotters. Then on Thursday we  got to draw our own scale of our class accurately.

We love The Last Wild!

Inspired by our class novel, the children were making small pictures using materials we found outside like rocks and sticks and more. We made things from the book like: winds edge, spectrum hall, the stag and more! This was exciting seeing how creative we could be with only resources from outside!
