Creativity!

It was fantastic to see the class explore our maths resources and use them to create games and group activities to practise a range of skills and challenge themselves.

John Byrne – The Slab Boys 🧑‍🎨🎬🎭

For our Scottish Artists Topic, the class explored ‘The Slab Boys’ by John Byrne. They worked in groups to act out a scene from the play, focusing on facial expression, voice volume, tone and accent, and movement. The groups then performed their scene in front of the class.

We continued our learning outside, by creating our own sets for ‘The Slab Boys’. Fantastic work primary 6🎭🎬

Tam O’Shanter 🐎🧟🧙🏻‍♀️

After a week of exploring the Robert Burns poem ‘Tam O’Shanter’, P6b wrote from the point of view of Tam or a Witch, and described their experiences in the poem, and what happened next. We then had some fantastic volunteers, who read their writing out to the class. We are so proud of their confidence and creativity. 😊

Tennis! 🎾

We are progressing well in our tennis unit, exploring how we pass with accuracy to our partners. We also practiced our batting skills in a game of rounders which we loved!

Wet play? No problem!

During wet plays in primary 6, we have been LOVING playing and creating with KAPLA! A group from the class created a tall, stable tower and they were so proud that we had to share!🌟

Halloween Art!

For Halloween, P6b created spooky illustrations of pumpkins, frankensteins and witches using colourful oil pastels on black paper. This technique made the pictures pop, and we were so impressed with everyone’s efforts 🧙🏻‍♀️🧟‍♀️🎃

Visitor – Young Carers

Kevin from East Renfrewshire Young Carers came to visit the class. He spoke about what it means to be a young carer, and how young carers across Scotland can be supported. The class were keen to ask more questions, and participated well in discussions 😄

It’s Tennis Time! 🎾

After a fantastic unit of basketball, P6b are excited to move onto tennis! We have been practicing coordination with bean bags, and will continue to develop our skills throughout the block 🙂
