Health and Wellbeing – Bounceback – Responsibility

We have been using Bounceback to discuss the idea of responsibility.  We read Horton Hears a Who and discussed how he was responsible.  After that, we made pie charts all about how helpful we are at home.  Look at how busy we have been doing all our chores!  What a responsible group of young people.  So proud of you P4c!

Literacy – Roman Reports

We have been using spidergrams to do some research on the Romans.  We found lots of books in the school Library to help us!  After the holidays we will be using our research to write a report about Roman life. Look out for updates!

British Science Week

Today we were showing  the class our Science projects for British Science Week.  We showed some of our projects to Mrs Tees as well.  The ones that were most popular were Make it Fly and the Journey Sticks. Dillon even found a fox toe bone to add to his journey stick! We got nice comments from our peers in the class.

Thank you for bringing in your projects. – Douglas

More Fitness Routines

Today we finished demonstrating our fitness routines for our own class.  We’ve got another couple of weeks to perfect them and then we’ll be teaching them to P4a and P4b.

We hope the other classes have fun when they get to do it with us! – Douglas

Science Week with Mr Russell

This morning we did a Science experiment with Mr Russell. We had to create a chemical reaction using warm water, food colouring, vinegar and bicarbonate of soda. When we mixed them together we created a gas. The gas made the bags POP!

It was really exciting seeing the bag pop! – Rose

P4 STEM Challenge – British Science Week

Some pictures from our Challenge.  We had to build a marble run using cardboard struts.  The marble has to take 60 seconds to reach the bottom. We had to check our marbles fitted the struts.

Electric Circuits

This week we built a circuit with a buzzer. We asked each other multiplication questions and tried to buzz in quickly.

Poems for Thinking

This week we have been using Poems for Thinking in our Health and Wellbeing time.  We talked about the poem I Saw a Peacock.  We thought the strangest line was “I saw an ant swallow a whale.”  Most of us thought this couldn’t be true so we discussed what could swallow a whale.

I think a black hole could swallow a whale because they swallow EVERYTHING! – Will

All at sea p4 school show

Our school show is called All at sea. It was originally called Pirates vs mermaids. It’s all about pirates and merfolk who both thought they rule the sea. The parrot is a really annoying part in the school show and Laura is playing it. Gibson is one of the pirates and the pirate is pirate one. Some of the other main characters are Captain Scarypants, Merfolk boss, Atlantis, Neptuna, Scampi, Ace, Scar and Gangrene.
