  • Use please and thank you.
  • Use names.
  • Be careful/responsible with the pieces.
  • Include people.

Pawsitive Pets – SSPCA visit

On Thursday we had a visit from the SSPCA.  We learnt all about how to look after animals.  We had great fun playing a card game all about caring for pets and making and coding a robo-rabbit!

Check out our pictures and videos below.

Douglas – Please do not be cruel to animals!

Emily – It was really fun programming our bunny robots.

Literacy – Speech Marks

This week the Question Marks were looking for speech marks in their current novel Mrs Dippy.  We read part of the story aloud for the rest of the class.  Each person in the group was either reading the direct speech or the part the narrator would say. We had to pay attention to the speech verbs and to other punctuation marks such as question marks and exclamation marks so we knew how to say it.

Hannan – It was really fun reading it out with my friends.

Numeracy – Revision

Today we have been using the EdPax software to revise place value and multiplication word problems. There were some really tricky questions about money too!

It was really fun.  I hope we do it next week. – Becky

It was fun working out what the items cost. – Rose

Happy National Numeracy Day

Today is National Numeracy Day.  Here we are playing games and doing activities to build on our multiplication skills, counting with money and grid references.

Science – Plants and Other Living Things

Today we did an exciting experiment!  We were learning about the parts of a plant.  We are observing these flowers to see if the dye travels up the stem to the petals.  You can find the original experiment at the link below – we did it slightly differently because of the materials we had available.  Remember, you might need your Glow password to see materials on the Tig Tag website.

Literacy – Writing

This week we are writing an imaginative story about a friendly vampire. We’ve had great fun discussing our ideas.

It’s quite cool because we get to design our own vampires. – Cara

Take a look at the link below to see where we got our inspiration from – https://www.onceuponapicture.co.uk/portfolio_page/a-friendly-vampire/a-friendly-vampire/

Here are some of our drawings of what we think a friendly vampire looks like.
