Bee-Bot fun in P1C!

We have had another busy week in P1C! We have been busy working hard on our programming skills and we enjoyed learning how to use our knowledge of direction to programme the bee-bots. We had to direct our bee-bots to different spots on our carpets and we had great fun creating challenges for our friends to try.

We read the book ‘It’s Your World Now’ by Barry Falls and enjoyed writing and drawing what we would like to be when we grow up. We have lots of future gamers, police officer, doctors and teachers in P1C!

We have also been working hard creating lots of rhyming word banks to help us with our writing.

In Numeracy and Maths, we learnt about symmetry and created our own amazing symmetrical pictures using loose parts. We had to make sure that they were the exact same on each side. We also used paint to create symmetrical butterflies.

We have also been learning about doubles and have been doing lots of different activities to help consolidate our knowledge of doubles.

We have been enjoying learning about woodland animals this week. We learnt about the different animals that live in the woodlands and their habitats. We selected a woodland animal and made them a new home in our construction area, we think they would love their new homes! We also went on a woodland animal hunt outdoors.

This week we also enjoyed creating models using peas and sticks. Our creations were so complex and amazing!

We have also been enjoying our new and improved library area which has led to lots of lovely discussion and story telling.
