For S1 to S3 students

If bad weather prevents you from attending school, please complete the following tasks:

S4 Students

National 4

  1. Revise the notes which you have at home. This can mean taking the information and organising it in a new way, such as on Study Cards, as a Mind Map or simply summarising them and using colour coding to clarify your understanding.
  2. Visit the National 4 English site on BBC Bitesize. This will give you another perspective on the work you have covered in school.

National 5

  1. Revise the notes which you have at home. This can mean taking the information and organising it in a new way, such as on Study Cards, as a Mind Map or simply summarising them and using colour coding to clarify your understanding.
  2. Where your class has a Google Classroom or Microsoft Team set up, use the materials there to develop your learning.
  3. Look at the SQA Understanding Standards page for National 5 English. Use the tabs on the left to pick a component of the course (RUAE, Critical Reading). You can look at examples of pupil work and read the marker’s commentary. This explains the way the paper was marked and lets you see what successful answers look like.
  4. Look at the SQA Past Paper website for National 5 English. You can attempt part or all of an RUAE paper. You can make plans for different essay questions. You can attempt Scottish Set Text Questions.
