Welcome back to St Luke’s! We in the PE department hope you are settling in and enjoying being back!
As some of you know the extra curricular clubs are up and running this week, and there is plenty of variety for you to choose from!!
Remember this is your opportunity to try an activity that maybe you haven’t considered before whilst developing your physical skills and building friendships with people across the school. There is also a chance to further represent the school in these sporting activities, with regular competitions and shows for you to display all you hard work and effort!
We hope to see many of you along soon!
The 1st year team drew 3-3 last night playing against Trinity High School at Ralston sports centre. The squad was missing Nathan Higgins our top goal scorer for the season but the boys that filled in played well. Scorers were Ben short, Dominic Reilly and Aaron Healy. The result means we need to wait until the table is updated to see if we are champions!
Thanks to Mr O Donnell for all his time and effort this year!
20 pupils from St Luke’s S2 Dance team competed on Tuesday yesterday evening, at Eastwood High School in the annual East Renfrewshire dance competition. Performances included a variety of duets, team and individual routines from across S1-S6. St Luke’s were the last to perform on the night out of 32 entries in the secondary competition, they were absolutely OUTSTANDING and placed 1st, being crowned ER dance champions!
Fantastic achievement by all involved!!! A special mention to Caitlin Kelly who opened the secondary performances with a professional routine from Gillian Andersons school of Dance and Erin McLaughlin who was dancing a professional performance in Irish Dancing.
Well done! champions all round!! 🙂
Good Luck to all National 5 and 4 candidates tomorrow!!!
Please remember to check the board to see what activities you have been allocated to!!
Please find the following slides attached for your performance questions.
Nat 5 Planning & Preparation Performance
On Wednesday the 11th of March, St Luke’s cross country team of 42 pupils and 7 sports Leaders who were marshals, accompanied Miss Hollerin, Mr McCabe, Jim and Jack Docherty to Rouken Glen for the East Renfrewshire annual schools cross country championships.
All pupils were high spirited and excited about competing against some of East Renfrewshire’s finest runners. The weather, glorious to begin with, soon deteriorated, this however didn’t hamper the spirits of all pupils involved, who showed immense resolve over a challenging course.
Stand out performances were from the third year girls team who came in fourth out of seven entered schools, credit to Lara Wilkie, Jennifer Campbell, Sophie McKeown, Therese Kearins, Selina Gurley and Alyssa Greally.
Individual performances from top runners were Lara Wilkie who positioned 9th out of S3 girls , Joseph O’Hara who also positioned 9th for S3 boys, with an excellent debut by Dominic Reilly who finished 11th in the S1 boys category.
All pupils were exemplarily and credit to St Luke’s high school and the staff.  Superb Effort!!!! 🙂
