Planned Road Works on Rouken Glen road

Note from Scottish Water

‘Phase 3: On completion of the second phase of our works, work will start on Rouken Glen Road.  This work requires a road closure, which will take affect from 9th May for approx. 5 months.  During this work it will be necessary to move bus stops in the area.  The new ones will be clearly marked.  There will be temporary pedestrian crossings on Speirsbridge Road close to the junction of Rouken Glen Road.’

Important Information Regarding Confirmation at St Mirin’s Cathedral

A large scale remedial programme has begun in the grounds of the Cathedral. There is NO access via the main gates on Incle Street and no access through the front facing main doors of the building.ALL pedestrian access is by walking up Garthland Lane (past the building and first left) and entering via the car park entrance. Access into the building is then by either side door (which both now have ramps)Children and sponsors should enter the Hall, following the path indicated taking account of the safety fencing. The porch area is out of commission so the only accessible toilets are in the Hall. The Cathedral car park will not be available for parking; there is limited open parking on the right hand side of Gartmore Lane and some on Paisley Road, while the nearest public parking is in the car park opposite the Lagoon Leisure Centre.
Please remember children should be in full school uniform; shirt and tie, black shoes.
Children and sponsors will meet teachers in the Cathedral Hall by 6.30pm. Parents should go direct to the Cathedral where seats have been allocated on a first come basis behind the children and sponsors.

SCHOENSTATT RETREAT CENTRE – Monday 21st March 2016

First of all I would like to congratulate all of our Primary 7 pupils on their full participation and excellent behaviour in the Bibleworld exhibition. From sitting in an aeroplane to using a printing press, the activities were very informative and interactive!

On Monday, 21st March, we shall visit the Schoenstatt Retreat Centre in Campsie Glen. This will be an opportunity for all children and staff to take “time out” from our busy lives and reflect upon our relationships with those who are important to us. Further details about the centre can be found on their website.

P5 CHOIR MEMO

P5 CHOIR MEMO

Dear Parent/Carer,

Following the letter regarding the school choir performing at the Glasgow Music Festival on Tuesday 15th March, we have important information for the parents/carers of Primary 5 children wishing to attend on the day. Due to the number of children in the choir this year, we are required to split the Primary 5 children between the two performances.

Primary 5c and d will be performing in the Hymn Singing category at 11:45am.

Primary 5a and b will be performing in the Scots Song category at 3:45pm.

When the children are not performing, they will be supporting the choir as members of the audience.
