Sacramental Information for Holy Name Parish from Parish Bulletin
Information for the families who, two weeks ago, enrolled a child for the Sacraments in 2016. First Confessions will be on 1st March, and Confirmations on 24 April. First Communions are set for Sunday 8th May; but from the enrolments we find that there are to be 12 children, and this would be a lot for our church, since we prefer 7 or 8 Families. So we’re asking; would any families help us by opting for the Sunday before, 1st May? Please let us know. There will be a meeting for the parents about all the sacraments on Thursday 21 January at 7pm in the church hall.

Electrical Waste Recycling Campaign
Following on from last year’s successful ‘Towards a litter-free East Renfrewshire’ campaign, the Environment Department is running a new initiative this term which raises awareness of the impact of Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) on the environment.
We are looking for your support as we host a WEEE bin for a period of four weeks during the month of November. The bin will be used for any small WEEE that the school may need to dispose of but crucially, we are asking pupils to bring in any small WEEE that they may have lurking in drawers at home, such as old computer consoles, hair-dryers, IPod, mobile phones and chargers etc.
The box will be in the school mensa throughout this month and there is an incentive of 20 house points for the house that brings in the most items.
We thank you for your support.
Eco Committee
Gardening Club
The Primary 5 members of the gardening club harvested all the fruit and vegetables which had been grown on the school grounds. They managed to successfully grow carrots, spring onion, potatoes, radish, apples and pears. The pupils then used the vegetables to make soup and fruit to make apple and pear crumble which they all enjoyed.
