Service Spotlight: DIFFERabled Scotland

DIFFERabled Scotland are a parent led charity offering peer support, training & awareness sessions to Additional Support Needs families. The charity was founded by two parents experiencing many challenges navigating their autistic children through childhood. The peer support sessions enable parent/ carers to share their challenges and potential strategies with others.

The charity aims to offer support around all areas of Neurodiversity (including autism, Add, Adhd, Dyslexia & Dyspraxia). The planning and delivery of all of our sessions involves neurodiverse trainers and facilitators or those with valuable lived family experience.

We welcome people of any age and we aim to support families also without a current diagnosis, who are wishing to explore their child/ young person’s needs further.

We currently run peer support groups within Glasgow and East Dunbartonshire and regular Autism and Neurodiversity training and awareness sessions from our base in Springburn, Glasgow. Our sessions are available to anyone from any local authority area who can travel to access of service. Our training is free to all parent/ carers. We do offer training opportunities for professionals at a small cost.

We regularly update all our peer support sessions, training sessions and events on our FB page ‘DIFFERabled Scotland’. We also have a closed FB page
‘DIFFERabled Information Sharing Page’ with lots of useful information. Please contact us for any further information at:
