New Hot Lunches

We have recently started offering a new hot lunch service for children – who seem to be thoroughly enjoying the tasty and nutritious new menu!

Please click the following link if you would like to have a look at the hot lunch menu.

IMS&FC Hot Lunch Menu

If you would like your child to have a hot lunch, instead of the packed lunch you are currently providing,  all you have to do is inform Donna or your child’s keyworker on the morning of the day you would like the hot lunch. You can do this either in person or by telephone before 9.30am. Hot lunches will be charged at £1.95 – payable on the day of order.

Unfortunately, we can not offer hot lunches on an ‘ad hoc’ basis outwith wrap around contracts.

Mrs Todd’s Last Day

I’m quite sure all our children, parents and visitors to the Family Centre can see Mrs Todd is ready to leave us!

Her ‘baby bump’ is growing daily.

Mrs Todd will finish as Depute Head of IMFC on Friday 20th February to begin three weeks of annual leave before starting her maternity leave. Baby Todd is due on the 16th of March and I am sure you will all join us in wishing Mrs Todd and her family well.

We will let you know in due course who will be replacing Mrs Todd in position of temporary Depute Head in due course.

Welcome Back News

We hope you have had a wonderful October break – welcome back to all!

Please note some changes – we have tried our best to inform everyone personally; however sometimes it can be difficult to catch each and every parent/carer.

Siobhan Barron (who has been taking the blue group in place of Miss March who is on secondment) successfully takes up a new position as Child Development Officer within Isobel Mair School following interviews prior to October holidays. Congratulations to Siobhan, we wish you every happiness in your new post.

The blue group will now be led by Child Development Officer Miss Hannah Dewhurst who has been working in our Balta and Lamba playrooms over recent months. Hannah will be replaced by Miss Linsay Thomson who will commence her employment within the Family Centre on Tuesday 21st October.

We also welcome back Miss Emma McManus, who has returned to the Family Centre following maternity leave. Emma is a Modern Apprentice and will be supporting children within the Cara playroom.

If you have any questions about any of the recent changes – please come and speak with Donna or Joanne.

Many Thanks.

Mrs. Wallace’s Announcement

Just in case you have missed the letter that was issued on 13th August:

Mrs. Wallace would like everyone to know that she has decided to retire at Christmas. Mrs. Wallace says it has been her privilege to be Head Teacher of Isobel Mair School for 10 years and more recently Head of the Family Centre and, although she absolutely loves her job, she feels that this is now a good time to leave to give her more time to do other things she enjoys.

The post of Head Teacher will be advertised in the forthcoming months and Mrs. Wallace will keep us all informed of what is happening.

Mrs. Wallace thanks everyone for their continued support which is greatly appreciated by herself and all the staff.

Parent E-mail Bulletin

To further support our communication with parents and carers we are now sending out a weekly e-mail to all parents on our mailing list.

The e-mail provides parents with a breakdown of ‘What’s Happening’  for the week ahead. In addition, a section named ‘Here to Help Hints’ and another called ‘Talking Tips’ has been added.

We hope you find this useful.

If you have not received an e-mail, pop into the office to ensure your name is on the mailing list.

Coffee and Chat Sessions

Thank you to all parent’s who recently attended Texa Playroom Coffee and Chat with Miss Erskine and Miss Darroch and those who attended Blue Group Coffee and Chat with Miss March.

An evaluation form has been issued, please ensure you return the form. We value your comments and suggestions and take these into account when planning future events at IMFC.

Our next Coffee and Chat will be hosted by Miss McNeill who is key worker for children in the yellow group. Please come along on Friday 8th November at 9am or 1.15pm – you will be made most welcome!
