There aren’t many names on the list for our walking buses on Wednesday 9th May as yet. Please note that although the starting points of the walking buses are Patterton train station and Asda, you and your child can ‘hop on’ the bus at any point along the main route, do not feel you have to complete the whole walk as it is a fair distance for little legs!

IMFC will be hosting a visit from debut author, Lizzie Finnigan on Wednesday 2nd May at 10am. If you would like to order Lizzie’s book ‘Button’s Big Adventure’ we can ensure the book is signed by Lizzie for your child on the day. Books are priced at £6.99. Please see Donna or Joanne if you would like to order.
Parent consultation planners will be made available for you to choose a time that suits you best. These meetings are really important as they provide a more formal opportunity for discussion about your child’s progress within the family centre. For pre school children, this will be the last consultation prior to school and therefore Gary will have your child’s Summative Report to discuss before it being sent to your child’s feeder primary school.
Our next pop in and play sessions will take place W.B 23rd April. The last sessions in January were well attended and we had 17 responses from our online follow up feedback questionnaire. The feedback has been collated and is on the Improvement Planning wall if you would like to read our action plan. We have listened to what you told us and feedback was generally very good, so thank you! We will make any appropriate changes and for the upcoming pop in and play we will host a short coffee and chat beforehand to explain our ethos of child directed learning within the family centre, with particular reference to the Cara playroom.
Pop in and Play dates are:
Tuesday 24th April
Wednesday 25th April
Thursday 26th April
The usual planners are at the playroom doors, so please write your name beside the day that suits you best. Younger siblings are welcome to join in. Online feedback forms will be available following the sessions. Please complete as we want to ensure we are providing the best opportunities and want to make improvements to everything we do!
The children from the family centre have been invited to join their peers in Isobel Mair School for a science themed magic show on Wednesday 18th April. I am sure the children will thoroughly enjoy learning about science in a fun and interactive way and we will be sure to share some photographs.
Thank you to everybody who came along to join the fun at our first Let’s Play session. Lots of parents and siblings joining in for a really family focused approach to play!
