Our Art Work

This week our ‘weekly workout’ (on the parent weekly email) was to draw a person! We are developing our drawing skills!

Mrs Todd has been at the front door handing out paper to all children as they leave the Family centre, if you have not yet received your paper – don’t worry – there is still time!

Thank you to all children who have returned their piece of art and thank you to all the brother and sisters who have also participated!

Mrs Todd has displayed the art work within the FC – please go and have a look…..for those who are unable to pop into the FC….we thought you would like a little ‘sneaky peek!’

Advance Warning!

Advance Warning

Our Tapestry of Festivals continues into January as we celebrate Burns Day on Friday 24th January.

Children will be learning traditional Scottish dancing , songs and Burns poetry in the weeks before the event and on the day we will be having some traditional Scottish foods for snack!

We ask that all children wear something tartan on this day to help with our celebrations. This may be a kilt, dress, tartan scarf or just a tartan ribbon.

‘My School Printing’ orders

Although all our children’s Christmas cards, thank you notes and gift tags have been delivered to the Family Centre; we are unfortunately still waiting for the remaining mugs, coasters and teddy bears to be delivered.

Please be assured, I have contacted the company several times and all items were marked as dispatched on the 15th of December.

Hopefully these items will be delivered by tomorrow.

As a back up plan: as the Family Centre is open on until Christmas Eve (for children who attend on an extended year basis) I will be able to personally contact any parent with items outstanding by telephone as soon as the items arrive. Parent’s will then have the opportunity to drop into the Family Centre and collect the items in time for Christmas.

Many thanks for your patience and understanding.

Settling in at IMFC

Sometimes it can be difficult to settle children into nursery following such a long Summer break. Whether you are the parent of a returning child or new child, please feel free to speak with your child’s key worker about the settling process. Remember, every child is different and what ‘works’ for your child may not be the same as another child. Work with us and I’m sure your child will settle just as quickly as they are able.

Let us know: Can we do any more to help ease your child’s transition from home to the Family Centre? If you feel we could improve or if you feel we are doing a good job……please speak to us or leave a comment in our comments, compliments and suggestion box.

Lost Property

Staff have put together a large box of ‘lost property’ items to include coats, shoes, cagoules, hats, assorted clothing and sun cream.

Please pop in over the holidays to collect anything you may have forgotten.

Uncollected items will be donated to charity or put to good use within the Family Centre from Friday 9th August.

Thank you!
