Social Studies

Throug Social Studies, children and young people develop their understanding of the world by learning about other poeple and their values. They also develop their understanding of their environment and of how it has been shaped. Children take part in activities to develop their understanding of

  • People, past events and societies
  • People, place and environment
  • People in society, economy and business

Through our Social Studies programme pupils will have opportunities to apply a wide variety of skills, including investigating, exploring, discussing and presenting. Our programme ensures that Social Studies provide an important context for the development of literacy and numeracy skills.
