As indicated in the ‘Results’ post below, the old SQA ‘appeals’ system was discontinued and replaced with the Post Results Service in 2014.
This is designed to allow a school to request further investigation if it believes there is a ‘reasonable possibility that an error may have occured with the marking or totalling of marks in a candidates’s script’.
The school must have predicted and hold evidence of attainment at least 2 bands greater than the candidate achieved in their final SQA results.
It is not a mechanism for ‘appealing’ for someone who just missed a grade or requires a higher grade than they attained for university / college / employment.
All East Renfrewshire schools are following the same procedures as detailed in the leaflet below.
