  • Safer Internet Day 2017

Tuesday 7 February 2017 is Safer Internet Day and a great opportunity for us to remind young people how to stay safe online. There are a number of resources available, with specific information for parents/carers, teachers and for young people and the Council will also be sharing this information on social media to promote Safer Internet Day and encourage everyone to make sure that they stay safe online: http://www.saferinternet.org.uk/safer-internet-day/2017

CEOP is the Child Exploitation and Protection online centre and they provide some excellent online resources for specific target audiences that can help to keep young people safe online: https://www.thinkuknow.co.uk/

We will be discussing internet safety with pupils during this term and would encourage all parents and carers to be aware of the resources on internet safety that are available. We’d also encourage you to make sure that you are aware of the websites and internet chat rooms that your children use, to make sure that you use parental controls on any devices that they use to access the internet and that you have conversations about internet safety with your children.

As part of Safer Internet Day, The Bank of Scotland has offered to come in and deliver short lessons to every stage on internet safety next week.
