The auditions for East Dunbartonshire Primary Orchestra take place in the week beginning 6th February. Applications are invited from any pupil who is having lessons on an orchestral instrument in school or privately. The standard required is approximately grade 3. Pupils will be asked to play a short piece at this level, play scales which demonstrate range and fluency and undertake a short sight-reading test. Unfortunately we are unable to accept applications from pupils who play instruments such as keyboard, bagpipes, recorder, accordion etc. Children, who play piano and can read rhythm well, may be considered for percussion. If you wish your child to be considered for an audition and have not completed an application form, please contact the school office. Applications must be in school by Friday 20th January at the latest.
