Science Week – Dancing Raisins

* SUCCESSFUL LEARNERS, RESPONSIBLE CITIZENS, EFFECTIVE CONTRIBUTORS *

The Bluebells class enjoyed observing the changes that take place during today’s Science experiment. We filled a cup with still water and a cup with sparkling water and added some raisins. We noticed how the raisins in the still water sank to the bottom. However, the bubbles in the sparkling water helped the raisins to ‘dance’ by bobbing to the surface. We got very excited by this!

We were also brave enough to taste the sparkling water which some of us had never tried before. Most of us didn’t like it.

We used our binoculars and found some tracks and had great fun searching and listening for the bear. A few times, we were sure that we had heard some rustling in the trees and got a bit of a fright when Mrs Vernon jumped out at us!

LGBT Study – And Tango Makes Three

* SUCCESSFUL LEARNERS, RESPONSIBLE CITIZENS *

The Bluebells class have enjoyed reading a new story this week. We read the true story called “And Tango Makes Three”. The story takes place in Central Park Zoo where two male penguins Roy and Silo meet and fall in love. They are met with some challenges along the way but the story ends up with them having a daughter named Tango and they are a loving family of three.

We really enjoyed reading this story and we also researched pictures of the real life Roy, Silo and Tango before creating our own using shapes and coloured card. Finally, we found some online penguin themed jigsaws which we have enjoyed doing.
