IDL: Global Goal 2 – Zero Hunger

*Successful Learners* *Responsible Citizens*

We had a great time this week exploring our ECO targets in class.  We set ourselves the task of finding a way to not waste so much food in the kitchen during cookery.  We decided to find a way to use discarded food by making our own wormery using soil, sand, stones, leaves and vegetable peelings from the soup that we made.

We made colourful firework displays out of salt and paint!

We made sparkly slime and play-dough !

We enjoyed time on the Magic Carpet making lots of firework designs:

We also decorated biscuits with writing icing to make a fireworks display!

ILP: Community Signs and Symbols

We worked hard this morning on recognising and identifying different signs and symbols we might find in our local environment.

We looked at the different shapes and colours of signs and what they are telling us.  We then made up our own signs for our class rules.   We were very responsible citizens as we walked around the community.

IDL: Christmas Time

We have been very lucky this week to have enjoyed TWO class parties!  We have played lots of games and been effective contributors as we took turns and waited patiently during each game or turn.  We had lots of fun and behaved very responsibly.

We were also very luck to meet Santa Clause himself!  Santa and his elf came to visit us.  We enjoyed meeting them and then toasting some marshmallows by the fire during a lovely Christmassy morning 🙂

On Thursday we got a letter from Santa thanking us for the letters we sent to him a few weeks ago!  Hugh was super excited to get a personal message from him!

To cap off a fantastic week we got the chance to watch a virtual Singing Hands concert!  We danced, signed and sang our hearts out!
