The Moonbeams class enjoyed creating puffy paint today. We made the paint using shaving foam, PVA glue and food colouring. We added food colouring to make the paint look like strawberry and mint choc chip flavoured ice cream!

The Moonbeams class were very excited to meet our Willowbank visitors today. We got to meet, say hi to and cuddle some lambs. We had to be very brave and very gentle when petting and handling the lambs. Some of them were only 1 day old!

On a Friday afternoon in the Snowdrops we like to chill out after a busy week. We have been enjoying exploring different sensory equipment and textures. We all have our favourites but have been very good at trying out new things .

Last month we enjoy participating in ‘The Big Pedal ‘ . This encouraged us to be a bit more active and we joined in some full school fun activities that got us moving our bodies in different ways .. we really enjoyed the obstacle course and got very competitive as we counted out loud to see who was the quickest . In the end Morgan was our winner after a head to head with Ryan . We think we were all winners as we all did our best and enjoyed taking part .

Lately the snowdrops have been working hard in the cookery room. With our theme being about Italy we get to try some fantastic food . We have been making pizza and mixing the dough and rolling it out to make the base. Then we have all tried different toppings before deciding what went on our pizza . The pizzas looked and tasted great .

The snowdrops took part in a sensory art lesson to make a pizza for our wall display. Instead of using paint brushes to paint the tomato base we used spaghetti part cooked and banded together as our brush . We all loved the activity and did really well at choosing toppings and adding shredded paper for the cheese. Lots of different textures. We were all delighted with our finished pizza . Molto bene(well done) everyone .

The Snowdrops have been responsible citizens digging and planting some flowers in the school garden. Everyone made effective contributions, using different garden tools and taking turns to hold our plants gently. We are going to be responsible citizens, taking care of them and watching them grow. Our flowers will show the colours of the Italian flag – green, white and red.

The Moonbeams class enjoyed an Easter themed science experiment. We boiled eggs and drew faces on them so that they looked like Humpty Dumpty!
We tried to make a safe cushion for Humpty Dumpty so that when he fell, he would not break. We used sugar, cotton balls, rice, lego, tissues and bubble wrap to try and make the bag safe.
The cotton balls, rice and sugar were the best cushions!
