This week in the Pine Class we have been participating in some activities all about Harvest.

We made bread dough, which was great, a lovely sensory experience, great hand exercise – squashing, gripping and rolling!!

We have continued in literacy to work on our letters, this week ‘C’, looking for things around the classroom that start with the letter and making a Cookie Monster using lots of different shapes.

We have started working our SQA Communication Unit – Recognising Characters in Fiction, we have chosen the story ‘Brown Bear, Brown Bear,  What do you see?’ to start with. We get to pick our favourite animal, work on our colours sorting, practice our Makaton signs for all the colours and the different animals, and we will make some very creative Art work.  Below is a link to a song that we liked.

We have also started our Numbers Skills SQA Unit, we have been counting whole numbers, we used the large building bricks

Counting while doing our MOVE Exercises, multi-tasking!!

We used the blocks to build up a tower as tall as we are – how many bricks??? Again, knocking them down is always the best bit!!!!

Fantastic Artwork with Mrs Mac

In Literacy we have been working on the letter sounds of our name and story sequences.

Working on our display for our theme board.

Friday was Purple Day – to raise donations for the Ayrshire Hospice, we came dressed in Purple did some purple Art and read a Purple Story.

The World needs more Purple People
