Digital technology has a place within Curriculum for Excellence to develop the skills for life, learning & work. The Enhancing Learning and Teaching Through the Use of Digital Technology Strategy encourages teachers, learners and parents/carers to take full advantage of the opportunities offered by digital technology in order to raise attainment, ambition and opportunities for all.
It sets out a series of national actions and local expectations structured around four essential and interrelated objectives:
• Develop the skills and confidence of teachers;
• Improve access to digital technology for all learners;
• Ensure that digital technology is a central consideration in all areas of curriculum and assessment delivery;
• Empower leaders of change to drive innovation and investment in digital technology for learning and teaching
At Stewarton Academy we are committed to promoting digital learning and providing pupils with the opportunity to engage in enhanced learning experiences involving digital technology.
All pupils have access to GLOW and the full range of tools including Microsoft 365 (Yammer, Forms, Word, Excel, Power Point, TEAMs etc). They have access to our GLOW Pupil Pages with extra resources to support with learning. They have access to many GLOW sites and GLOW mail.
Pupils access digital technology across all subjects and make use of I-pads, computers and laptops.
Digital technology is used to enhance interdisciplinary learning in STEM and across many faculty areas.
It is important that pupils stay safe online.
We use many Microsoft Tools at Stewarton Academy to develop skills for life, learning & work.
