S3 pupils will begin to consider the subjects they will follow to National Qualifications. Pupils follow seven subjects in S4; all pupils follow English and Mathematics and pick five other subjects, again reflecting their previous learning, interests and progression, as well as academic strengths. All pupils should pick from the 9 subjects they are already studying in S3. Pupils will not be permitted to take subject not studied in S3.
