Curriculum Overview
All pupils at Stewarton Academy follow the Broad General Education (BGE) in S1 – S3.
In S1 pupils study sixteen subjects: English, Maths, Modern Languages, Science, Social Subjects (Geography, History & Modern Studies), ICT, Art, Wider Achievement, Music, Health and Food, Drama, Technological Studies, PE, PSE and RE.
In S2 pupils follow the same curriculum but the three social subjects are delivered as distinct courses rather than an integrated course, and one period is set aside for literacy and numeracy.
At the end of second and third years pupils begin to make choices about what subjects they wish to continue to study.
