Welcome

In the Maths department we have 2 main aims. We want to equip you with the skills needed to interpret and analyse information, simplify and solve problems, assess risk and make informed decisions. These are valuable skills that will be required throughout your life and studying Maths is recognised to be one of the most effective methods to acquire these skills. We also aim to use S1 to S3 to prepare you for the formal Maths qualifications you will study in S4, S5 and S6.

In S4 you can study National 4 and National 5 Maths. Success in National 4 Maths enables you to progress to National 5 Maths in S5 and success in National 5 enables you to progress to Higher in S5.

Pupils who are considering a career in science or engineering can take Advanced Higher Maths in S6. For pupils in S5 and S6 we also offer Personal Finance and Lifeskills Maths courses. These 2 courses are designed to raise pupil awareness in issues such as budgeting, salaries, borrowing and investing money.

We trust you will find the resources available on this page useful. Good luck!

ICT

The ICT department incorporates the 2 distinct subject areas of Business Studies and Computing Science. Pupils decide at the end of S2 if they wish to progress with one of these subjects and on this page you will find resources to support your studies throughout S3, S4, S5 and S6.

Pupils who choose Business Studies will study Administration and IT in S4 at either National 4 or National 5. In S5/6 Business Management is offered at Higher.

In S4 you can study National 4 and National 5 Computing Science. Success in National 4 Maths enables you to progress to National 5 Computing in S5 and success in National 5 enables you to progress to Higher in S5. Advanced Higher computing Science is an option in s6.

In S1 and S2 pupils follow a common course that will develop practical skills using a wide range of software including MS Office, Scratch programming and Serif drawing and web authoring.

We trust you will find the resources available on this page useful. Good luck!
