These study skills were developed by Yana Weinstein and Megan Smith who are cognitive psychological scientists interested in research on education. Their main research focus is on the science of learning. (Hence, “The Learning Scientists”!) They began their work in study skills when they realised that students in the run up to assessments and exams students were feeling unprepared for exams, not knowing how to study, not being able to concentrate
Their Vision is to make scientific research on learning more accessible to students, teachers, and other educators. Their aim is to:
• Motivate students to study
• Increase the use of effective study and teaching strategies that are backed by research.
• Decrease negative views of testing and assessments.
These study skills are ideal if you are needing advise or pointers on how to structure your revision.

Here are six strategies that you can use in preparation for assessments. These are based on evidence on how we learn and will be a great starting point for your revision.
