S1 Christmas Fun

S1 Christmas Film Afternoon

On Friday 16th December the S1 pupils enjoyed an afternoon of festive cheer watching a Christmas movie. This event was organised and managed by Ruby Angus one of our S6 pupils, leader of the Equalities and LGBTQ+ Groups and Rights Respecting School Ambassador. Pupils enjoyed popcorn and juice which added to the cinema experience. Several staff members including Mrs Ward joined the S1’s to enjoy the film. After a very busy year for our S1’s, coming together in this way to celebrate their success so far was fantastic and also further amplifies article 31: Every child has the right to rest, relax, play and take part in cultural and creative activities.

S1 Christmas Panto Trip

On Tuesday 20th December, 120 S1 pupils enjoyed a visit to the Kings Theatre in Glasgow to see Beauty & the Beast. We had a great afternoon and really enjoyed the opportunity to spend time together having fun, staff included!

Promoting Equality and Diversity – New Policy

Throughout 2022 staff at Stewarton Academy have been developing an Equality and Diversity Policy to underpin our school values and the practices already taking place.

At Stewarton Academy the principles of equality, diversity and inclusion are at the heart of school life, where all young people, staff and members of the wider school community are treated equitably and with respect. We are committed to meeting the statutory duties of the Equality Act 2010 and this policy includes information about how we comply with our duties and also provides guidance about our approach to promoting equality and diversity. We recognise that these duties also reflect international human rights standards as expressed in the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.
