We are working hard with parents/carers to reduce late coming. Arriving at 09.00 instead of 08.45 every day amounts to missing just under 2 weeks of learning across a whole year. It is important that pupils arrive on time as this is an important skill for life, learning and work. If you need support in dealing with late coming then please speak to Pupil Support.

The Sailability Young Person of the Year award recognises a young person who has shown significant commitment to boating and progressed not only their own skills and knowledge but encouraged and supported others. It was presented to 16 year old Rory McKinna. Rory is the Scottish TT Hansa 303 Singles Champion, the Multiclass winner for his class and was a silver medallist for Team GB at the European Para Youth Games last summer.

Congratulations to Zak Francis on achieving his Queen’s badge. The Queen’s Badge is the highest award that may be gained by a member of The Boys’ Brigade. The Queen’s Badge offers the chance to engage with the local community, take on responsibility, set personal goals, build self-confidence and experience a sense of achievement.

First day of Book Fair went well and many S1-S3 pupils enjoyed perusing the books, with several taking advantage of the 50% sale and placing orders. Books are available to collect from the School Office once payment is received.

Scholastic Book Fair 3-17th May 2018

We will be holding a Scholastic Book Fair in the school library from 3-17th May 2018. A Scholastic Book Fair is a fun, pop-up event that’s all about books and a celebration of reading that puts the very best books directly into pupils’ hands. During these dates mobile bookcases packed with over 200 of the newest and best books from over sixty publishers  will be available for pupils to buy,  helping them develop a life-long love of reading. With books starting from only £2.99, plus exclusive titles and a 50% discount on all RRP that you won’t see in the shops or at any other fairs, there’s sure to be a book for everyone!  Please feel free to browse the current book selection.
Pupils will be able to visit the fair during their English class and identify any books they would like to purchase.  We would ask, where possible, that the exact money is brought into school for them to be able to purchase their chosen book.

As you aware, the SQA examination period begins shortly and over the last couple of days pupils will have been issued an SQA pack in Assembly. This is a vitally important time for you son or daughter and a letter will be sent home today to give you some necessary information and emphasise some important points about the examinations.

Regional Training Parent Carers letter (3)

Our annual P7 Information Evening will take place this Wednesday, 18th April from 7.00-8.30pm.  This is an excellent opportunity for parents to meet with staff, tour different departments and learn more about the extra curricular activities on offer.
