  1. Welcome to a new week p4!

We hope you had a nice weekend.

Just a wee reminder about our blog being pick’n’mix and that the pages will be updated with some new activities during the week.

Updates:

*Teams – each class now has a Teams group (see Mrs Wright’s post below).  Click on your class’s tile and use your Glow login details.  We would still like you to upload your work on to your blog but Teams can be used for the following:

*Asking your teacher questions about your home learning.

*Requesting a password reset.

*For chatting with classmates or your teacher – remember it is good to stay connected.

Teams alerts teachers when someone posts a message so this is a quick way to get a response.

*Bug Club account – Pearson, the company that runs Bug Club and Active Maths, has made several additional resources free for schools to use during the lockdown.  So sometimes you may find some new activities in your ‘My Stuff’ section.  These include spelling games, Rapid Reader books and maths videos.  Here is what it may look like:

*STEM activities are now also available.

*P4 Picture Gallery is where we are celebrating home learning.

*Did you know that you can email your teacher from your own email account through Glow?  Just click on this tile:

As always, we are only providing you with ideas for home learning.  You also have your paper pack and we are more than happy to hear about your own ideas too.

Friday 8th May is a holiday this week. It is a bank holiday celebrating the 75th Victory in Europe Day (VE Day) which helped bring an end to World War 2 in 1945.

So enjoy your 4 day week and hopefully we will continue to get nice weather.

P4 Class Teams Page

At the side of this post (on a computer) or at the very bottom (on a mobile phone) you will notice that 4 tiles have appeared. Each class has a tile and if you click on your tile it will take you directly to your class Teams page (you will need to log in to Glow). Why don’t you have a shot just now to see if it works? Say hi on Teams and see if you get a message back from your teacher!

Happy Monday !

Happy Monday everyone!  We hope you had a lovely weekend.

Just a wee reminder of how our blog works – think of it as a pick’n’mix!  We are putting up ideas for activities and it is up to you which ones you want to complete.  You also have your pack we sent home if you would rather do that.  Or if you have an idea or project that interests you then that would be great too.  You can always email your teacher if you have questions or work you’d like to share.

Updates:

*As always each page is regularly updated with new suggestions.

*2 new pages added to the blog.  STEM ideas for budding scientists, technology fans, engineers and mathematicians.   A picture gallery where p4 teachers are posting pictures to celebrate learners’ achievements in home learning.

*Thank you for all your shadow picture messages. They were lovely to see.

Have a great week everyone and try to get outdoors to enjoy the dry, warm weather.

We Miss You!

The p4 teachers are missing you all so much! We are loving seeing your work on the blog or hearing how you are getting on through emails.

If you haven’t said “Hi” yet it would be great to hear from you!;-)

We are working hard at home creating fun ideas for you to try at home. Remember to have lots of fun with your family too. There are so many skills to learn from being at home and around your local area.

Here we are working from home…

Celebrate Earth Day – Wednesday 22nd April 2020

Mrs Findlay has set us a task which will help us on our journey to achieving our Rights Respecting School Award. It would be amazing if P4 gave it a go and shared our thoughts on our blogs or by email to your teacher.

Please follow the link below where you will find all of the information as well as a lesson to try. You will be asked to get talking to family members about the environmental changes they have noticed in their communities.

https://worldslargestlesson.globalgoals.org/learning-for-earth-day-22nd-april/

P4 pupils are all aware of the Global Goals for Sustainable Development and could share their knowledge with others at home.

Here is the wee video clip which we watched during Health and Wellbeing rotations.

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts. #teamp4

Easter holidays

Tomorrow is the start of your Easter holidays! You are off school until Monday 20th April.

That means you have 2 weeks to forget school work and just have fun. That is what the P4 teachers will be doing 😁.

So play games, exercise, get outside, watch TV and films and whatever else you consider fun – everyone deserves to relax and recharge.

Since it is the holidays the P4 blog will not be updated during this time.  Please check back in on Monday 20th April when new ideas will be added to our pages.

So from all the P4 teachers please have a happy and safe holiday.

Week 2 of Home Learning

Some updates for P4.

Remember we will sometimes be adding new ideas to the pages at the top.

New spelling words have been added to our spelling page.

A new page has been added that gives some help using Glow blogs.

Check out Mrs Williams’ post on Bug Club comments – remember the teachers can see any answers you type in when answering a question.

It would be nice to see some more pupils logging on to their blogs so please take the time to try it if you have a way of getting online. Blogs will be used in stages p5-7 to record learning so it would be a valuable experience.

Hoping everyone is well.

Bug Club Teacher Comments

Bug Club Teacher Comments

Good afternoon everyone,

Almost the weekend! 😉

Many of you have been logging onto your Bug Club accounts and enjoying some of the books allocated.

Your teacher is logging on regularly and checking how you are getting on.

When you type and answer we are able to see what you have written and we will give you feedback in that box.

You will find our comments when you go into your ‘Library’. At the top right hand corner of the book read you will see a little green envelope symbol. Click on that and you can read it.

We are aware that if you type anything in that box that you can move onto the next page. Please do try to show us your understanding of the question through your fab answers!;-)

Happy reading!

Posting photos on a blog

It has been great to see many learners try to post pictures of their work on their blog. At this point a reminder of how to edit photos so they appear the correct way up may be useful. Click on the photos below for a caption explaining what to do.

Once you have edited photos you can then insert the photos or create a gallery of several photos. Gallery option is great if you have a lot of photos.

.

Hope you find this helpful.
