HOMEWORK WEEK BEGINNING 02.11.20

Your teachers would like to remind you that you should try to access Bug Club and read regularly throughout the week.

Ensure that you find the Bugs hidden on some of the pages and that their eyes close once you’ve finished answering the questions for your book.

Library books and bedtime stories also count towards your reading each week, so settle down and get page turning. 😊

NUMERACY & MATHS

– Watch this video

–Β  Can you work with your homework buddy and count your doubles when doing some exercise. For example, do 10 star jumps and then another 10 star jumps to make 20. You can use lots of different actions to do this such as, high knees, hopping, burpees and squats.

How many different ways can you count you doubles?Β

Feel free to take and share some pictures of the doubles you make.

Challenge – Can you make a list of doubles not in the video? How high can you go? Take a picture and let your teacher have a look.

LITERACY

– Log into Bug Club and read a book.

– Watch the following videos.

– Make a list of β€œck” and β€œqu” words.

– How many did you come up with? Can you write a sentence or two using some of your words?

– Look at the firework in the image below. Use the words you’ve come up with and using rainbow writing create a beautiful and colourful firework with them. See below for an example.

OTHER CURRICULAR AREAS: ART & DESIGN

House System Competition – Family Challenge!

– The old houses Burns, Fleming, Livingstone and Scott have been voted out and we need your help coming up with a new logo for each of our new houses. The new houses and colours are explained on your sheet. With your family and using the sheet provided, design a logo for your new house. The deadline for entries is this Friday 6th November. Hand your entries back to your teacher for to be in with a chance of winning a prize.

Another fun art activity you could do is to design your own firework. You can either draw a picture or make it 3D. Think of all the shapes you know and see if you can use these to make your creation.

Make sure to take a picture to let your teacher see what you’ve done.

A little history for you all. Watch this video about why we have Bonfire night. Maybe you could let your teacher know some facts that you learn.

Have a great week!Β
