At New Cumnock Primary School we are very lucky to have such talented and enthusiastic boys and girls who commit themselves to our school choir.

We meet every Tuesday after school to rehearse and we are led by Mrs McNulty. Our choir is open to Primary 4-7 children and we are always open to new members, so if you enjoy singing and would like to join us, please come along!

We perform locally at a range of events as we love to entertain. We have even taken our singing talents nationally by competing in the National Choral Festival for primary schools each year.

Our choir will be singing at the New Cumnock Development Trust ‘Christmas coffee and cake’ event at the Town Hall.

Our choir sang at the New Cumnock Christmas light switch on. We entertained everyone in the Church Hall and the Town Hall too. Despite the miserable weather, we had a great turn out!

Our choir sang for the residents at Afton Court Sheltered Housing. They loved hearing our Christmas songs and chatting to our children.

Our choir sang at the New Cumnock Baptist Church Cafe. It was lovely to sing for our local community, we had so many lovely compliments about our lovely singing.

Our school choir entertained for the Afternoon Tea group at the Town Hall today. We sang a range of songs we have been learning at our rehearsals, our favourites being our new Lewis Capaldi ones!

On Saturday the 27th April, our school choir and Mrs McNulty represented Ayrshire by performing at the National Choral Festival at St. Athanasius Primary School in Carluke and were awarded 1st place! It was a wonderful afternoon where the audience were thoroughly entertained by the participating choirs. Our school received wonderful comments about their winning performance and we are so proud of this amazing achievement!

Today our school choir performed at the Sweet Afton Water Acoustics music event at New Cumnock Town Hall. We performed a selection of Scottish songs including Coulter’s Candy and The Wild Mountain Thyme. Some of our choir members even recited some Burns poetry, in keeping with the Burns theme of the event!

We were thoroughly entertained and enjoyed appreciating music by the other artists on the day, Franklyn Acoustic, Locarno Swing and Taylor Howie.

Well done to all and a huge thank you to the family members and friends who attended to support us and the other acts, it made the event a huge success!

Today our choir performed at the Open Door event at New Cumnock Church Hall. We enjoyed entertaining our audience who were all having a nice Christmas dinner together. A huge thank you to Mrs Houston and the Open Door members for their kind donation to our choir funds.

Our choir performed at the New Cumnock Christmas Market at the Town Hall. This was a wonderful event organised by the New Cumnock Events Group, a huge thank you to them for their kind donation to our Choir funds and to the kind people in the audience for their generous donations too.
