As you are no doubt aware, your child is due to transfer from primary to secondary education at the beginning of the new school session (August 2026).

You must complete the online P7 transfer application at http://eastayrshi.re/p7transfer no later than Friday 12 December 2025 to ensure your child is allocated a place within their secondary school.
Reminder that tomorrow we are having a Dress Down Day, pupils can come to school in their own clothes and we are looking for a donation for the bottle/raffle or tombola stall which we will have at our Christmas fayre on Friday 28th November.

Preparations have already begun for this year Infant Nativity ‘Hey Ewe’ and children are busy learning all of the fantastic songs and lines.
This years performances will take place on Tuesday 9th December & Wednesday 10th December at 2pm (doors open at 1.30pm for tea & coffee)
A letter will be sent to Infant parents/carers over the next few days on how to purchase tickets.

We are asking pupils to wear something blue to celebrate World Children’s Day , this Thursday 20th November. After the fantastic Scotland result last night children are able to wear Scotland football tops ONLY should they wish to do so.

We would like to say a big thankyou to Fr Jim for all of the love and support he had given to our Mount Carmel family whilst he has been Parish Priest at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church.
His love, guidance & good humour will be sorely missed around the school by pupils and staff alike

Primary 2 – Primary 7 will be delighted to share Father Jim’s final mass on Friday 7th November 2025 @ 10am.
Could all pupils taking part in the Cross Country Event on Thursday 6th November please come to school dressed with the clothes they are wearing to run at the event. Children should also bring with them a small snack to eat, water, school uniform to change into on return to school, clean dry socks & shoes and a towel.
Children will be leaving school at 9am prompt so please ensure that children are at school on time.
On Tuesday 18th November children in Primary 1 will receive their Bookbug Family Bag and children in Primary 2 and Primary 3 will receive their Read Write Count bags.
We will have a special afternoon of activities on the day. Children in P1-3 can bring pajama’s to change into after lunch, they are also welcome to bring a cuddly toy, small blanket or pillow. The teachers have planned a lovely afternoon for the boys and girls we hope they have a lovley time.
There will be no school crossing patrol on the 31/10 morning or afternoon

We are delighted to announce that the winning House for this term is Water.
The children who are in the winning house will enjoy a trip to Jungle Madness on Wednesday 8th October whilst there they will be given crisps, cookies & juice if you do not wish your child to have these for allergy purposes please contact the school office.

There will be a Dress Down Day on Friday 10th October. We are asking kindly for a £1 donation via ParentPay . Pupils who pay give a donation will automatically get a free entry into our October Raffle. This item is now live on Parentpay and will be open for payments until Wednesday 22nd October.
Homework will finish for the October holiday on Friday 3rd October and recommence on Monday 27th October 2025.
Reminder that if you have not already done so the final payment towards your childs pantomime ticket is due to be paid before the 30th October 2025.

We are still awaiting a number of Annual Data & Medical Information forms to be returned.
These forms ensure that we have the most up to date information for your children and any medical conditions they may have.
Ensuring that we have the most up to date information allows us to keep in contact with parents/carers and provide you with the most up to date information quickly & efficiently
If you have still to return these forms please do so as a matter of urgency, if you require new forms please contact the school office to organise these.

We are still outstanding a significant number of permission forms that were sent home with pupils on the 16/9/25.
The letter includes a tear of slip granting permission for children to be involved in Learning Journals and for photographs of individual children to be shared on Learning Journals.
If we do not receive the completed tear off slip we are unable to share what your child has been doing in class on their Learning Journal.
Could we please ask those who have still to return the form to do so as soon as possible, If you require another form to complete please contact the school office to request this
