Hello from Lockerbie!
We’re having an excellent time (although the weather has been temperamental) and are all enjoying ourselves. So far the children have taken part in team games, kayaking, canoeing, abseiling, the hi-ropes and team games. As usual the food is excellent and all the pupils are being well fed 🙂
Last night the weather was cold and very rainy so we decided to stay in and the Lockerbie staff organised a quiz for us.
Wifi isn’t great here so we will try and upload photos when we can.
Miss Mudge and Mr B
In response to concerns about Coronavirus, staff are making sure children are washing their hands throughout the  school day. We have spoken at assembly about correct hand washing and watched video clips showing the correct procedure. East Ayrshire Council has given us extra resources to ensure we have sufficient supplies of soap and paper products.
On Thursday 5th March we celebrated World Book Day. Children and staff were encouraged to dress up as a character from their favourite book. Everyone had a great day and some of the costumes were AMAZING!!. Here are some pictures of the children:
Please find a link below for the very latest “Stay at home guidance” for people with confirmed or possible Coronavirus:

“Coronavirus – What is it? What’s happening? Will I catch it? Children ask lots of questions, but BBC Newsround has produced a series of helpful video clips to help children and young people understand more about what’s going on. …..
We have added some up to date links on the Information page of our blog page to assist you when explaining and discussing Coronavirus with your child.
We are keen to support parents to ensure all young people are Cyber Safe, especially with the growing use of a wide range of Apps and online forms of communication :(WhatsApp/TikTok/Instagram/Snapchat etc.)
As part of our continued commitment , we are delighted to promote our new “Safer Schools” App. This App is a reliable source of advice on all things Cyber. It gives empowering, current and informative information on all current digital platforms/tools/apps in an accessible manner. We have a range of tailored user accesses (pupil, staff and parent/carers). To access your parent platform please:
We would recommend that you discuss with your child about which apps and social media platforms they currently use/access. This will help ensure they know how to stay safe online-using the app to start these types of conversations is great.
On Friday 28th February, we all said a sad farewell to our very much loved Lollipop man, Bill Robinson.
Here are some photos of Bill receiving his presentation from the children:
