Please go to the school information tab on the blog to access our updated School Improvement Plan, Standards and Quality Report and Handbook for the new school session.

We have been working hard during the last year helping our children learn more about their rights.
We took part in Outright 2020 which focused on the affect of climate change, we celebrated International Women’s Day as well as celebrating and embracing Inclusion and Diversity. We placed a huge focus on mental health and celebrated Children’s Mental Health week by sharing lots of videos and activities to support this.
Each month the RRS school committee will continue to choose a ‘Right of the Month’ that will be delivered to each class to focus on and discuss. These will continue to be put on the blog and school app for everyone to learn about.
Please have a look at our SWAY, which shows our work so far with Children’s rights Our RRS Journey
Here is a reminders of the United Nations Rights of the Child.
We want to share some pictures of our new foyer.  As shown in the previous post Maybole Upholstery kindly refurbished our bench and Mr Kelly also painted this. We have also created a display using some amazing artefacts that we had in the school reflecting the proud mining history of the village.
I am sure that you will agree the foyer is looking great, we look forward to being able to welcome you into the school to enjoy our lovely new environment.

We are absolutely delighted with our newly upholstered bench in the front foyer.  Thank you to Mr Kelly for the paintwork and a huge thanks to Alan Green and Maybole Upholstery for the new cushions upholstered in our school colours. We are extremely grateful for this contribution, it looks great!

We hope that you enjoyed the weather over the Bank Holiday weekend. With the sunshine and warm temperatures forecast to remain with us for a few days, we would like to ask that your child/children have sunscreen applied before they attend school or nursery, and/or bring a sun hat with them for additional protection while outside.  They are welcome to bring sunscreen to school to top up as necessary, but they will need to be able to do this independently.  As always, we encourage children to bring a water bottle to school with them, which they will be able to refill as required.
Children will be enjoying the outdoor environment more frequently as the weather improves, with their teachers using spaces around the school to enhance learning experiences.
Yesterday all of our pupils took part in a sponsored skip to help raise funds for the P7 Micro-Tyco project. The day was a huge success and the kind donations of our parents/carers has allowed us to raise a great sum of money that will be put towards buying games and activities for the playgrounds, as well as new resources to support our curriculum. Next week P7 will share their Micro-Tyco total. We have added some pictures below, but more have been added to the P7 Class Blog (follow the link). Thanks again for your continued support.
