Barony Burns Success

We had more Burns success at the inaugural Barony Burns Competition on Tuesday 26th March.  Mitchell won the P1 – 3 category and Jessica was the winner for P6-7.  Well done to Jandre who competed in the P4 – 5 category.

A huge well done once again on what has been a very successful year for Drongan Primary School in Burns competitions.

Show Week!!!

What a week it has been at Drongan Primary School.  Both the P1 – 3 Nativity and the P4 – 7 Show were absolutely fantastic and once again showcased the wonderful talent that we have among the children here in Drongan.  It is a pleasure and a privilege to work with the children every day to provide them with the opportunity to demonstrate their talents, and the Thursday evening performance was certainly a fitting finale to show week.

A huge well done to all of the children and a massive thanks to the staff for the work that has gone into the preparations for the performances.

Finally, a big thank you to you the parents, carers and members of the community for your continued support.  It is an honour not only to work in a school with great pupils and staff, but also to serve what is such a strong and supportive community here in Drongan.

There are two Sway presentations below with links to photographs of the cast list and choruses for the shows.  Some children are off today but we will take their photo when they return and add to the Sway presentation.

All the Fun of the Fayre

A huge thank you to everyone who attended our Christmas Fayre on Tuesday 5th December.  With the support and generosity of you and the community we raised over £2400 for the school fund on the night. This total will increase with he work that is going on in the school. It is always a pleasure to see the school so busy and was also lovely to see so many former pupils who came along to support the event.

Thank you to Mr McFadzean and Mrs Tait for all the hard work involved in making this event such a success.

Outdoor Areas

Well done to our ECO Committee and other children who have been working hard in the garden this week.  The place is beginning to look much more inviting and pleasant to be in.

The picnic benches also look great and we will eventually create a timetable for senior classes to enjoy using these for packed lunches.  We also have a line machine to create some playground markings.  Mrs Bradley is going to work on this and has some great ideas.

We would like to thank Drongan Community Association for their donation of £1000 to put towards our outdoor areas.  The Community Association have been so supportive to the school over the years and this is another huge help.  We will look at what else we can do for the outdoor area and will also explore other options for funding suggested by the Community Association.

Thank you
