Pupils from our winning house for this term, Afton, enjoyed a special reward yesterday. We arranged a silent disco for the house winning pupils and they all had a great time.
I would like to thank Smith’s Coaches for kindly purchasing the token tube machine and tokens for the school. This has been part of the relaunch of the house reward system, and the children love being awarded house points and putting them in the token tubes. We are also going to have a Smith’s Coaches House Reward trophy or shield that will be awarded at Prize Giving. This will be presented to the winning house over the course of the year and will be separate from the Village Store House Sport’s Cup awards.
It was a pleasure to be involved in the opening ceremony of The Kenneth Clarke Community Garden on Friday 27th September. It was an excellent event organised by Drongan Grassroots, and supported by many important people and organisations from across the authority.
We were extremely proud of the children from Drongan Primary who read poems that they had written, and also of our choir who sang at the event.
Thank you to Drongan Grassroots who have supported us and worked together to make this happen. Also, thank you to our Parent Council who supported us in order to access some of the funding. And to J R Garden Solutions for doing such a great job of landscaping the garden.
A huge thanks to Kenneth’s family, who have been so supportive to the school over the years. It really is a fitting tribute for this wonderful resource to be named after Kenneth.
Well done to Murrin Ronney who competed at the SSAA Primary Cross Country Championships in Kircaldy at the weekend. Murrin is doing very well in her athletics and we are proud of her for representing the school at this event.
We had more Burns success at the inaugural Barony Burns Competition on Tuesday 26th March. Mitchell won the P1 – 3 category and Jessica was the winner for P6-7. Well done to Jandre who competed in the P4 – 5 category.
A huge well done once again on what has been a very successful year for Drongan Primary School in Burns competitions.
A huge well done to everyone who represented the school at the Ayrshire Burns Competition last week, we are so proud of you all
A special well done and huge congratulations to Lillie P7 who came first in the P6/7 singing category and to Kate P7 who came third in the P6/7 instrumental category for her piano.
Our wonderful Christmas Choir visited Rowantree Court to perform to the residents and members of the community. It was lovely to visit again and spread some Christmas cheer.
We look forward to visiting again in the New Year.
What a week it has been at Drongan Primary School. Both the P1 – 3 Nativity and the P4 – 7 Show were absolutely fantastic and once again showcased the wonderful talent that we have among the children here in Drongan. It is a pleasure and a privilege to work with the children every day to provide them with the opportunity to demonstrate their talents, and the Thursday evening performance was certainly a fitting finale to show week.
A huge well done to all of the children and a massive thanks to the staff for the work that has gone into the preparations for the performances.
Finally, a big thank you to you the parents, carers and members of the community for your continued support. It is an honour not only to work in a school with great pupils and staff, but also to serve what is such a strong and supportive community here in Drongan.
There are two Sway presentations below with links to photographs of the cast list and choruses for the shows. Some children are off today but we will take their photo when they return and add to the Sway presentation.
