Relationships, Sexual Health and Parenthood Programme (RSHP)

During Term 4, as part of our Health and Wellbeing curriculum  for all stages, the children will be covering outcomes within the Relationships, Sexual Health and Parenthood programme.

It is important that we keep you informed of sensitive topics we are covering and make you aware of what will be taught at Early level (ECC /P1), First level (P2-P4) and Second level (P5-7)

The video below will provide you with all the information about RSHP and what will be covered at each level.

We hope you find this information useful when discussing these topics at home with your child.

If you are unsure of anything or have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact the school.

Thank you

Shoot to Saturn

Starting in January we will be taking part in East Ayrshire’s Shoot to Saturn campaign. We will be encouraging our children to actively travel to school by walking, scooting or cycling.

If children travel to school by any of these methods they will earn S-miles each day. These will be calculated each week with a winning ‘Active Traveller’ class being announced. If children are not able to walk, cycle or scoot to school, we will make a circuit available at playtime for them to earn S-miles.

Please see the attached letter for more information.

We hope to see lots of active travellers in terms 3 and 4.

World Children’s Day

We celebrated  World Children’s Day today by taking part in a whole school online assembly with many other schools across Scotland. We learned about the importance of climate change and how this links to Children’s rights.

Today also marks the birthday of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child; which has recently became a part of Scottish law.

Having heard from other children across Scotland leading climate change campaigns, this has inspired us to encourage our community to take action!

Anti- Bullying Week

This week is Anti-Bullying Week.

This year’s theme is ‘Choose Respect’

This week,  children will learn more about what it means to be respectful to others and why this is important. They will talk about what bullying is and what help they can get if they or someone they know is experiencing bullying.

Mutual Respect is one of our school values here at Drongan Primary. Please help us to continue to foster and encourage  respectful behaviour in our pupils.

The link below will give you more information on bullying. Please take time to speak to your children about any concerns they may have.
