Following a very successful swap shop at Halloween, we are now kindly asking for any unwanted Christmas Jumpers, t-shirts or dresses, to be donated ahead of Christmas.
These will be available (for free) at our Christmas Fayre and Christmas shows.
Thank you, in advance, for your support.
We celebrated World Children’s Day today by taking part in a whole school online assembly with many other schools across Scotland. We learned about the importance of climate change and how this links to Children’s rights.
Today also marks the birthday of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child; which has recently became a part of Scottish law.
Having heard from other children across Scotland leading climate change campaigns, this has inspired us to encourage our community to take action!

Last month we supported the Ayrshire Hospice as part of their Go Purple Day. In school the children took part in a ‘wear something purple’ theme, as well as lots of activities in classes. We also had a ‘purple cupcake’ tuckshop at break. All of the activities raised an incredible £550 for the Hospice. Thank you for your support!
Thank you for the kind donations towards the Scottish Poppy Appeal. We managed to raise £80 through the sale of poppies in school.
This week is Anti-Bullying Week.
This year’s theme is ‘Choose Respect’
This week, children will learn more about what it means to be respectful to others and why this is important. They will talk about what bullying is and what help they can get if they or someone they know is experiencing bullying.
Mutual Respect is one of our school values here at Drongan Primary. Please help us to continue to foster and encourage respectful behaviour in our pupils.
The link below will give you more information on bullying. Please take time to speak to your children about any concerns they may have.
