RESPECT ME GRANGE CAMPUS PROJECT

P3C have been working with pupils from Grange Academy helping them to make a Campus Anti bullying Leaflet and Policy.  We met with Grange pupils and we discussed lots of ideas about bullying. We then drew a picture of what we think a bully looks like.  We then used all our notes from this during out writing time and created our very own Anti bullying Advice Leaflet. Mr Crossley is so very proud of our leaflets.  The photographs above show our amazing leaflets.

Mrs McCaffrey Depute Head of Grange Academy,  who is in charge of the RESPECT ME group, visited  our class to see our amazing leaflets. She was so impressed with them and she also commented how clever and hard working we are! She said that we worked together as an excellent team and we were very mature.

Well done to all these children who entered the Burns’ Competition and learned and recited the Sair Fingir.  Mr Crossley was very proud of you all!  Mrs Pitt picked the final three to go forward to the judges on Wednesday. The finalists are Klae, Harlow and Cole. Good luck to all of you tomorrow! 🙂

 

Chinese New Year

This is the year of the Dragon. We made our very own dragons in the classroom. We are going on a school parade tomorrow. We also ate a fortune cookie as well. We had good fun! We had a visit from a Chinese teacher who was teaching us some Mandarin.

We have been looking at famous Scottish Landmarks as part of our Scotland Topic. We researched Edinburgh Castle, The Kelpies and The Glenfinnan Viaduct. We developed our painting, blending, colour mixing  and cutting skills to create these amazing sunset pictures. 

 

We have been learning about the Scottish Artist Steven Brown,

He created the famous multi-coloured highland cows.

We created our very own McCoo pictures.

SCOTLAND MINI TOPIC

We are looking at Scotland just now. This is a mini topic.

We have been learning about Charles Rennie Mackintosh. We know that he was an architect and designer and that he is famous all over the world.  His Rose is very famous. We are proud of our efforts! 🙂

 

We have started learning the tables. 

We learn the 2x then the 4x then the 8x tables in Primary 3.

We learn the tables in groups – 

1 group of 2 = 2

2 groups of 2 = 4 etc

 

Primary 3 Term 3 Overview

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from Mr Crossley and  all the wonderful boys and girls of P3 . Primary 3C is such a great class to work in!!!! We hope that Santa is good to you all and have a lovely relaxing and refreshing holiday. Mr Crossley would also like to thank all the grown ups for the super support he gets all year round! so much appreciated! 🙂

Christmas Owls – Last Week of Term

We worked very hard developing lots of different skills. We learned the important life skill of sewing. We also learned about trying hard and not giving up so easily. We are all so proud of pour owls.

 

Thursday 21st December 2023

We were all super excited yesterday to get a visit from Santa. He came to our playground and he gave us all chocolate bars. The day got even better as we had our P1-3 Christmas Party. It was so much fun, lots of prizes were won and we have super dancers in P3C.

Wednesday 20th December

We had a super time at Jack and The Beanstalk Panto, OH YES WE DID!!!! It was so great to watch and very funny!!!! We all loved so many different things about it 🙂

Carol Singing at Tesco – Tuesday 19th December

Primary 3P, 3C and 7E all visited Tesco in Kilmarnock today.  We were watched by lots of our adults. We were all singing very well! It was lovely to  listen to!  We all got so so very wet on the way back as it started to rain really hard! But a good afternoon was had by all!

Carol Singing at Grange Nursing Home

On Friday 15th December P3C, P3P and P7E visited our Nursing Home. We sang carols to all the residents. Mr Crossley was so proud of all the children. The residents were all joining in with the singing and had a super time. We also handed out our beautiful hand made Christmas Cards to the residents. What a wonderful afternoon! 🙂

A new pupil? A visitor?

An Elf appeared in our classroom today? We don’t know who he is? Is he here visiting? What’s his name? He has been watching us all day today!

Park School Christmas Fayre

Friday 1st December

We all visited the Park School Christmas Fayre today and had great fun. Santa was there too! We bought lots of nice things with our money. 

Happy St Andrew’s Day from P3C

November 30th was St Andrew’s Day.  We celebrated by wearing tartan and creating these amazing pictures. St Andrew is the Patron Saint of Scotland, we also found out that St Andrew is the Patron Saint of Ukraine, the country where Tymur comes from. 

Annanhill Christmas Fayre
We made these fantastic Christmas Tree decorations to be sold at the Annanhill Christmas Fayre. A lot of us also sang Jingle Bell Rock on the stage. We hope we raised lots of money for our school fund.


Our fantastic abstract self portraits

We have been looking at paintings by these two artists Frida Kahlo and Kandinsk. Frida Kahlo paints self portraits. As part of our body topic we were looking at faces. Kandinsk paints abstract act. Abstract art helps you to be yourself and express feelings, something we have been learning about in Health and Wellbeing. We joined these two ideas together and created these bright and vibrant pics. We developed various art skills. We are all very proud of the pictures.

Grange Nursing Home

We visited the residents again this afternoon. We read stories again and had a wee catch up with them. We made St Andrew’s  day crafts with the residents. We all had good fun.

 

THE BIBLE

Mrs Howie has been teaching us about The Bible. We have been learning about different books and stories that we can find in the Bible.

THE HEART

We looked at the the heart this week during topic time. We created these pictures by painting, printing and doing some collage work. We are certainly developing many art skills plus we have a great knowledge about how the heart works. 

Gymnastics Club

Well done to all these children who received certificates today from Miss Cunningham for completing their after school gymnastics club. Everyone already looking forward to the next time the club starts again.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

THE LUNGS

We have also been finding out about how our lungs

work. We tried experiments as well. We have also being doing fitness in the gym to find out how all our organs work.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

THE BRAIN

We have been learning about the brain and all the important parts in the brain that makes our bodies work. It’s very complicated!

LUNG EXPERIMENTS

Klae and Jessica were excellent helpers today showing us how our lungs work using models.

 

As part of The Body topic we were looking at models of our lungs today. We made models of lungs out of paper plates as well. We are all enjoying The Body topic and learning lots of new facts and developing lots of skills.

We will remember them!


Our school is 50 years old very soon. We will be joining in various celebrations this year. Yesterday we had a disco party in the afternoon. We had great fun at the party. Mr Crossley took lots of pictures but for some reason most of them did not work!

Pupil Voice Reps

Marley and Hunter have been chosen to represent out class during all Pupil Voice meetings.

Mr Crossley is sure they will do a great job! 🙂

 

 

Gymnastics

We are having a super time in gymnastics. We are loving the big equipment being out. We have been developing balancing, jumping, climbing and rolling skills. Mr Crossley is saying that we are making super progress already! 🙂

Active Spelling Activities

Primary 3C were taking part in various activities during Active Literacy. They love completing the spelling rotations. They all worked very hard! 🙂

Our New Topic

We have started our new topic called The Body.  We looked at the skeleton. We used cotton buds to create our own skeletons. We are very proud of our cotton bud skeletons.

Health and Wellbeing

We have been learning all about friendship with Mrs Howie. We are trying our best in P3C to be friendly to everyone.

Grange PE – we are loving our gym times on  Thursday with the Grange Senior Pupils. We are developing so many PE skills.

 

 

BONFIRE NIGHT – 5th November

Bonfire Fun in Primary 3C.  We created these pictures developing our measuring, cutting, printing and sticking skills. We are proud of them.

Mary just loves our visits.

We visited Grange Nursing Home again on Halloween. We made lots of Halloween things and had party games with the residents. We also had ghostly cakes to eat.

A ghost taught us on Friday. We had fun activities at Halloween and completed lots of Halloween activities. It was funny! 🙂

 

THE VIKINGS

We have loved The Vikings, we hope you like looking at our super artwork that we made during our topic. Mr Crossley thinks we are a creative bunch of children.

School Trip to Largs – We had a super day out at Vikingar in Largs. We learned so much more about our topic The Vikings. We learned about The Battle of Largs.

Grange Nursing  Home. We just love visiting the residents in Grange Nursing Home. We love reading to them and doing art and craft activities 🙂
