Term1/2 Overview

 

13.9.23 ‘Meet the Teacher’ afternoon. 📚

We welcomed our parents in to visit our class on Wednesday afternoon.  They helped the children with their Shaduf Model challenge as part of our Ancient Egypt Topic.
We also had great fun the next day when we discovered what the Egyptians used them for and then tested them out! 💦

21.9.23 Science Experiment 🔬

We had fun this afternoon working on our Science experiment that we have linked to our Learning about farming in Ancient Egypt!
We have our experiment all set up and will hopefully see changes when we are back in class on Tuesday! Thanks to Grange Academy Science Department and Teachers for their input and loan of equipment! I wonder if any of you can tell your grown ups what the words germination and meniscus mean?

11.10.23   Meet the Pharaohs of P4GM!

We have been learning all about Pharaohs.  Who they were, when they lived and why they were so important to the people of Egypt.  We have completed research about them and have focussed in on Tutankhamun and Cleopatra.

30.10.23 Ancient Egypt Workshop 
P4 had a visit from ‘History Alive in Schools’ and took part in the Ancient Egypt workshop. They listened to Kathryn who told them all about the Egyptians (who was very impressed with the knowledge that the children had up until that point of their topic). Then we got to take part in a few activities. It was brilliant fun!

1.2.24 Solar System Circuits

On Tuesday we had Margaret and Heather from the Maidsafe Foundation in to help us complete our Solar System Circuit STEM Experiment. Although they were quite tricky to start with, we had fun creating these circuits and understanding that any little breaks in the circuit would stop the light from working.

2.2.24 Food & Health

On Thursday we were preparing our prep areas, food and equipment for learning different skills for preparing fruits and vegetables. We were safely peeling, grating and chopping. We enjoyed tasting the prepared foods and had a lovely healthy snack together. Not many of us were fans of the spring onions though!

8.2.24 Chinese New Year

Today we joined with our friends throughout the school and campus to celebrate Chinese New Year.  We enjoyed watching the main Dragon Parade and then joined in with our own Dragon creations  it was great fun!

15.2.24 Layers of the Earth 🌍
We have been enjoying learning about the layers of the Earth and should be able to tell you some facts about it at home. Here are some of the activities that we have been doing in class.
