Pupils worked together and used their problem solving and maths skills to solve puzzles, which helped them crack the case of the skeletons found in Stirling Castle. All pupils enjoyed this challenge.
P5/6 – Smoking Matters
A lady from Smoking Matters paid a visit to P6 last week to inform them about the dangers of smoking on the body as well as the impact it has on their money. P6 really enjoyed the session.
P5/6 – K’nex Challenge
P.5/6 took part in a K’nex Young Engineers Challenge which involved working together in pairs to create a model using K’nex materials. Pupils were given a specific challenge with very clear criteria – plan and build a bridge which can accommodate vehicles and can be raised to allow boats of any height to pass freely underneath. They were given specific dimensions and the bridge had to hold a bottle of water to ensure its sturdiness. Skills developed during this task were cooperation, perseverance, problem solving and resilience amongst many more. After a very difficult judging process the pupils through to the Cluster Heat, taking place on the 2nd March at Stranraer Academy, are Struan Young and Joshua Fraser.

Nursery Peep Session 1
Miss McKie would like to thank all the families who attended today’s first Peep session. Today’s session was an introduction into Peep and “getting to know everyone”. Our families enjoyed taking part in some fun getting to know you games, listened to a story and even made their own face.
We had such a great turnout we have decided to split into two smaller groups. Miss McKie will look at all the feedback and be in touch with a date and time to best suit your requests.
