Runner Up in Christmas Card Competition

We are very excited to announce that Melissa Fraser (P.5) is a runner up in the 2021 Christmas Card Competition which was set by The Rt. Hon. Alister Jack MP who is our Member of Parliament for Dumfries and Galloway. It must have been a very difficult job for Alister Jack’s team to judge all the entries. All the children who entered this competition received a certificate to thank them for their participation. Melissa received her certificate and a £25 gift voucher for Amazon.
Well done to Melissa and everyone who entered.

Awards for 19th November 2021

This week we awarded two certificates per class. The first one was for the person who is using our Learning Aliens in their learning and the second was for progress in their Numeracy. All the children enjoyed a hot chocolate and a biscuit with the Headteacher as an award. Looking forward to seeing who will be our winners next week for the Learning Alien award and our new award for Citizenship. Good luck!

Children In Need 2021

What a fantastic range of colours and styles we had coming through the school gates this morning to help raise money for Children in Need. The children were all very excited and looked fantastic. All classes had fun taking part in different activities throughout the day, within their classrooms. A final total will be announced at the start of next week. Thank you very much for your kind donations.

Halloween 2021

What a scary bunch we had at Sheuchan Primary today. All the pupils had been replaced by witches, monsters and creatures of the night!

All classes organised a super day of Hallowe’en fun such as wrap the mummy, corners, pass the pumpkin and a blind fold guessing game between brussel sprouts and marshmallows. Eek! All the children had a fangtastic time!

Will you recognise any of these faces from the class photos below?

Mrs McColm’s Leavers Assembly

On Friday, 1st October we said goodbye to Mrs McColm, who is leaving Sheuchan Primary to take up the post of headteacher at Sandhead Primary and Drummore Primary. We held a graduation for her as well as a tea party in each class and had a sing song outside. Mrs McColm would like to thank parents for the lovely gift presented to her as well as the beautiful bunch of flowers she received from the Parent Council. She will be greatly missed here at Sheuchan as she was an enthusiastic, motivated and all round great teacher. We wish her well in her new job.
