Eggs-tra special eggs!

Leswalt Primary school take centre stage to showcase Scotland’s Larder

 Leswalt Primary schoolchildren will be taking centre stage at next week’s Royal Highland Show when they present “Scotland’s Larder Showcase”. Leswalt Primary School has been selected to represent Dumfries and Galloway, and potato farming. Eggs-tra special trip!

Farm visit to West Galdenoch

Netball league gets off to a great start!

Leswalt Primary School has entered the Rhins Primary School netball league and played their first games on Monday 9th May 2011.  The team comprised of pupils from p4-p7 .  In their first evening playing competitively the young team gelled well and demonstrated a great sporting attitude.  The final scores resulted in Leswalt Primary winning against Belmont A and Sandhead, they drew against Rephad and lost against Belmont B, 2:1

Bug Hotels at Logan Gardens

The whole school recently enjoyed the sunshine at Logan Gardens, in conclusion to their “James and the Giant peach”/Minibeasts topic.  Pupils were actively involved in creating little “Bug Hotels”, using resources in and around the grounds.

National award winning cyclists!

Staff, pupils and parents at Leswalt Primary were delighted today when it was announced the Leswalt Primary was the winning Scottish school, and 2nd out of 1100 schools in the UK who took part in “The Big Pedal”. This was the result of 15 days real effort by the whole community – to leave the cars at home and cycle to school. Congratulations to all!
