P7 Curling at the North West Castle

On Friday the 24th of February P7 went to the North West Castle accompanied by Karen Anderson. We were there with Kirkcolm Primary and Port William Primary. It was so exhilarating to find out more about curling. We started off learning how to throw the stone, then how to brush the stone, and after that, how to curl the stones. We were taught by John Agnew – he was a good coach and taught us lots. We had a five minute interval with juice and biscuits and then had our own mini bonspiel. Our team played Port William and we won both ends 3-0. We all really enjoyed it and most of us are planning to go back on a Tuesday evening to the Curling Club.

Emily said, ” I really enjoyed learning how to curl and cant wait to start on Tuesday evenings.”

Arden was a little more wary as she commented,  ” It was good, but I found it quite tricky and kept falling.”

Jamie loved it and exclaimed, ” I can’t wait to start on a Tuesday. I am going with Jack.”

Jack joked that  “My favourite part was Emily doing the Bambi impression!  I am going to start going on a Tuesday evening.”
