On Tuesday the 10th of December P5 and P6 performed their Christmas pantomime .This Performance happened at the Baptist church. The name of the pantomime was the Mystery of Magpie Manor. The story line was set in 1920s and it was about solving a mystery of a stolen family heirloom at their party where the auction was held, however with Agatha Christie the mystery was solved! The performance was outstanding and everyone was proud of these stars. It was a great night: well done to all the children and staff who worked so hard!
On Friday the 29th of November we had the Christmas fair at Calside school and P3 and P4 were practising for their Christmas carols. The P3 and P4 teachers did really good for organising the carols and the p3 and 4s learning the songs, All the children did really good, The teachers were really proud of their class. We had this for Christmas. They were practising since the 10th of November. On Monday we had the assembly and both classes got a merit. At these astonishing moments of the carols there were thousands of adults and children watching and listening to the songs/ show. Over all everybody performed really well and it was a great night.
On the 29th of November Calside Primary had their Christmas fair, everyone had lots of fun and tried out lots of fun games that were run by the p7s. There was a cake stall, a tombola stall, a popcorn stall, a slime stall, a glitter tattoo stall, a drink stall, a reindeer food stall and lots of game stalls including pin the nose on the Rodolph, where did Santa go first, what did the teddy get for Christmas, guess how many sweets are in the jar and guess the elf’s name. There were six lucky winners that that won amazing prizes like sweets, teddies and more. Amazingly the p7s raised over 300 pounds that are going towards their leavers’ trip.
Eighteen months ago, James decided that he would like to spend his pocket money adopting an orangutan and done this through WWF. He also received an adoption of another orangutan from a family friend for his birthday. Along with some friends, who shared the same enthusiasm, they approached their school to hold a bake sale. The bake sale was well received and raised over £72.
Mum Jane Henderson said: “James and his friends are actively encouraging family and friends to avoid products that contain palm oil, which itself is quite challenging as palm oil is contained in so many everyday products you wouldn’t expect. These small acts of change can make a huge difference to these beautiful animals.”
We have archived several posts from this session- including Moat Brae, Science, Children in Need, Halloween and the Library Launch. This is to make lots of memory space for all the Christmas photos to come this month. If any parent/carer wants any more of the photos taken previously, please let Mrs Gamble know so they can be emailed to you. Many can also be found on the One Note for each class.
