Hello my lovely Primary 6,

Just think your actually closer to primary 7 than you think, not long and you all 27 of you will be in your final year of primary school. It’s such an exciting time. Even more so that you have the chance to explore your own learning even more at home with your adults. Below is the work i have set for this weeks learning.

Can I remind everyone that I have set out work for this week that on your Microsoft teams, there are also activities on Sumdog and MyMaths. If you don’t have login details for any of these sites please contact the school using the email below. Tell Mrs Davidson your FULL NAME and CLASS and ask for your login details for the website you need. The email address you use is:

This week for writing I would like you to write a short story about your time in Lock down, I would like you to remember to split your writing into paragraphs and include lots of details about your thoughts and feelings. As we draw ever closer to our seeing what our new normal will be it’s important to reflect on where we have been and what we have learned. So your writing task this week it to write a personal reflective short story about your time in Lock down. Your paragraphs might contain the following details.

Paragraph 1 – Finding out about Lock down, school closing thoughts about staying at home.

Paragraph 2 – Easter holidays, your thoughts about learning from home, being home schooled.

Paragraph 3 – your journey how your feelings may have changed from excited to bored to nervous, what do you miss about your life, and what are your excited about in the future.

Reading

I started to read a new book this week, I haven’t had the opportunity to read much with being so busy, however i started reading one of my favourite films, Twilight. It has not disappointed me . I find myself asking and answering questions continuously. I would like you to continue reading your chosen Novel at home, use the Blooms Taxonomy higher order thinking  to help you create your own questions. You can then answer those question in full using evidence from your books. Here is a picture to help you remember the Blooms Taxonomy levels. Are you naturally asking and answering questions as you go?

This week we are going to have a closer look at children begin evacuated during the war. There is an Evacuee suitcase activity that I would like you to do, one for during the War and one that you would take with you now if you were to be evacuated. When you have finished both of them I would like you to then complete an Venn diagram with the information you have collected. Your Venn Diagram can be completed on the worksheet I have included or you can do it outdoors and take a photo of your learning.

As we would have been practising for sports day races during term 4, I would like  you to come up with some races that you would include in your very own sports day. I would then like you to play these games with an adult or someone in your family. Enjoy!

Below are more activities you could complete for PE.
