Home Learning WB 4th May

Morning Primary 6 and our St Pius family and friends.

We are trying to give our learners (you) at home as may ways to access learning as possible. Therefore I will now be putting your work on here (weekly) along with putting it on Microsoft Teams (weekly). I will also continue to be put activities on Seesaw (daily) and Sumdog (weekly).

Home Learning

You will notice  each document has a number in brackets, the higher the number gets the more challenging the work is. Please choose work that will be challenging for you, not to easy and not to hard.

Numeracy

Multiplication –   Copy the calculations out into your home learning jotter (or print if you have access to a printer).  Remember to challenge your learning, if your worksheet is to easy try a more difficult one.

I have also included a challenge worksheet if you have completed the hardest worksheets why don’t you try the challenge activity.

Literacy

  1. I am hoping that you have all been enjoying reading your own chosen novel from home. I would like you to continue reading aloud to someone at home or even to yourself. Continuing to work on fluency and expression.  Below are questions I would like you to answer on YOUR chosen book.  Please chose one question from each area (predicting, using information, summarising, making connections, synthesising and inferring) and answer these in your home learning jotter. Remember to use evidence and write in full sentences.

2. I would like you to have a look at the image below.

Imagine you are the man on this picture, you are leaving your family to go to war.  Use your home learning jotter or Microsoft word to write/type a diary entry.

I have included examples of diary entries to help you think about what you might include in your diary entry.

3. Spelling – Ask your adults or a grown up to look at your writing.  If they don’t  mind ask them to highlight your spelling mistakes (a maximum of ten).

Use these as your spelling words for this week.

If you don’t have any spelling mistakes ask an adult to write 10 tricky words for you to practice spelling.

IDL

Last week we looked at making fact files about important people in WW2. This week we are going to have a closer look at Anne Frank.

Use the links below to help you make notes about Anne Frank and her life.
