We have been report writing this week, we were reporting on an aspect of Charles Rennie Mackintosh. We reported on the Glasgow School of Art burning down, his death and how he has impacted on the world of Scottish art.

We applied and developed our word processing skills to create a newspaper report.

Our learning about probability continues…

We are now applying our learning to real life problems!

What are the chances of getting a red jelly baby ? A pink party ring? A green skittle?

We conducted a trial, worked out the  chances and wrote a statement describing the  probability.

This week P7 have been learning all about probability. We ran trials to demonstrate the chances of  a coin landing on heads or tails or a dice landing on each side. We recorded our results. We found out that the more times we flipped the coin or rolled the dice the more even the results.

Primary 7S have had another very busy week!

In PE we completed the bleep test, it was really tiring but great fun! We are looking forward to working on our fitness obver the next few weeks so we beat our personal score next time.

In maths we learned about ancient numeracy. We went way back, thousands of years in time to the Babalonians, Egyptians, Greeks and the Romans. We learned about their number systems and even had a go at using them to count and create sums. We went on to create a poster to demonstrate everything we had learned.

We also had a special visit from Mr Sullivan, director of Cannon. He spoke to us about the about the skills and attributes we have and we will need in the world of work. We then applied that knowledge and completed a CV for the House Captain and Vice House Captain posts.

Welcome to Primary 7!

Welcome back, hope everyone had a great break and are ready to have a fantastic year in Primary 7!

We have already had a busy week setting our rules, writing our class charter and designing posters showing what exciting things we got up to during the holidays. We also started our class novel, Auggie and Me by R.J Palacio which is a follow up to Wonder.

We are all looking forward to having a busy and fun year.
