Sorry for not blogging…

So, over the last couple of weeks, we have been incredibly busy. We were on our trip last Friday and the week before, glow blogs were not working so this is a post that we created a couple of weeks ago. We will also add in some current updates as well.

We had a visit from M&M Productions, where they put on a performance of E.B White’s ‘Charlotte’s Web’. There was a giant pig ((Wilbur) not a real pig) running around the gym hall. We really liked the quick scene changes and enjoyed the performance.

Last week, Steve from Drumfun, visited the school for a two day drum workshop experience. On the Thursday we visited him in the gym hall and used the drums and our bodies and created a variety of different beats. On the Friday afternoon, we had a whole school event were everyone had boom whackers. It was LOUD and very entertaining.

Over the last couple of weeks, we have been taking part in Bikeability 2 training. We have been learning skills to ride safely on the roads. We have been doing safe stops, U-turns, passing side roads and parked cars and turning into major and minors. We have had to ensure that we have been doing lifesaver looks to ensure our safety. We have now complete our Bikeability 2 and will be receiving our certificates and badges soon.

On Wednesday 22nd May, Mrs Hunter returned to work after being off and a number of children attended the Clackmannanshire County Sports. P6H pupils were very successful, receiving a silver for 4x100m relay (boys), silver for 100m (boys), silver for shot putt (boys) and gold for high jump (boys). Other members of the class place in finals earning valuable points for the team and Redwell came first for the 2nd year in a row.

We have been continuing to read the Pyrate’s Boy. We have now discovered what was in the box that James was protecting. If you want to know, ask your child! We have been linking our knowledge of the Jacobites to what we are learning.

Last Friday, we visited the Tall Ship and Riverside Museum. We enjoyed looking at all of the exhibits and learning about the different forms of transport. We were able to go on the Tall Ship (for free), Sam tripped up in the old street and Miller and Ethan looked beautiful in the dresses on the old street. We all enjoyed going to the gift shop and purchasing souvenirs.

With only two weeks to go, we will continue to keep you posted. Bye!
