Technologies, Wars and Songs

This week has been another incredibly busy week.

We have been introduced to our new topic which is the Scottish Wars of Independence. We completed a KWL grid to find out what we already know ( We don’t know much!) and what we would like to find out. We have been using the computers this week to plot places and landmarks on a map.

This morning, we were using SumDog to work on our mental agility and others were attempting to access Glow to use Power Point and email.

We have moved into a badminton block within PE. We have been working on a variety of skills to aid us during games.

In music, we have been learning a variety of Scottish songs in the lead up to Burns Day.

We are back!

Welcome back to the new year! Hope you have had a fabulous holiday and are back into the swing of things!

We have been straight back into work and looking at area within maths. We have used a variety of strategies to work out the area of a variety of squares, rectangles and random areas. We have counted squares and been introduced to the formula A = L x B.

During writing this week, we learned about New Years Resolutions, where they come from and thinking about how we can improve ourselves and our communities.

During science, we have been looking at water conservation, how different continents do this and researching on the internet using our skimming and scanning skills.  We took the information and started to create Power Points.

PE days have changed to Monday, Wednesday and Friday and this term we will have music with Mrs Pennie on a Wednesday. On Thursday, we will be taking part in chanter lessons. This is part of a two year project.

Keep coming back for further updates throughout the term.
